3 Commercial HVAC Considerations
Not all commercial buildings in Palm Beach, Florida, were created equal. There are many benefits to upgrading your commercial HVAC system. Here are three things that you should consider when doing so:
Choose the Right System for Your Commercial Space
You can choose a central air conditioner, heat pump or ductless system. A central AC system is closed and loops around to circulate refrigerant, which cools the air. A heat pump is similar, but it works as both an AC system and a heater. It can transfer heat into or out of a building. However, this system won’t work well in areas that experience extremely cold temperatures. You can install a ductless system with a heat pump or on its own. Ductless systems can consist of multiple indoor air handlers that serve a designated space rather than the entire building.
Maintain Your System to Maximize Efficiency
Commercial HVAC systems require regular maintenance from professional contractors. Typically, this process includes:
- Changing the filters
- Checking for debris
- Caring for the ductwork
- Cleaning the coils, blowers and parts
Boost Your Commercial HVAC System With Add-Ons
You can get more out of your commercial HVAC system by installing the following add-ons:
- Air Purifier: Air purifiers can remove up to 65 percent more debris that’s 1 micron or smaller from the air. Particulates that are this small are generally missed by other filters.
- Dehumidifier: Dehumidifiers can reduce the amount of static electricity in the air. Electrostatic discharge can damage factory and office equipment when it builds up. They can also prevent excess moisture.
- UV Lamp: HVAC systems can be breeding grounds for biological growth. Protect your commercial space by installing a UV lamp. These lamps can inhibit biological growth around the coils and drain pan.
