Germs and odors need to be exposed to the UV light for a period of time to be destroyed. The air going through your AC system is moving too quickly for the UV light to have a large effect and the light can only affect the pollutants that make it back to the ductwork. The kind of passive technology is great for keeping stationary objects like your cooling coil clean, but just isn’t designed to be effective on large amounts of air.

The most important thing to get across about the Guardian Air is its proactive ability to kill germs and eliminate odors in the conditioned space. These units don’t need the pollutants to travel through the duct work to be neutralized. The breakthrough in the RGF advanced oxidation technologies is a group of oxidants known as Hydroperoxides.     Hydroperoxides have been a common part of our environment for over 3.5 billion years. Hydroperoxides are created in our atmosphere whenever three components are present: oxygen molecules, water vapor and energy (electro magnetic).  PHITM has the ability to create hydroperoxides.
